Gavi Faces Potential Long-Term Injury Layoff

Catalunya Radio recently reported that Barcelona and Spain national team midfielder Gavi could have encountered a far more serious situation that first believed and there is now a risk of another knee operation.

Gavi is suffering with a meniscus issue in his right knee — the same one he underwent surgery on in November 2023 after damaging cruciate ligaments on international duty with Spain.

However, the 20-year-old is expected to undergo further examinations over the coming hours to determine whether an operation is required amid concerns the player could be sidelined for months.

Barcelona confirmed in August that Gavi had not suffered a serious injury to his right knee, but could miss up to a few months of the season.
