Luis Enrique Warns: No Easy Matches Ahead – Team Must Keep Winning to Stay on Top
Luis Enrique: "Ningún partido fácil – PSG a ganar ante el Toulouse y obsesionado con la Champions"
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique spoke to the media today (Friday) to look forward to PSG’s match against Toulouse in the third round of Ligue 1. The Spanish boss also gave his take on the UEFA Champions League draw and hailed the progression of some of the club’s younger players.
Thoughts on UEFA Champions League Challenge
Enrique stressed the need to concentrate on the job at hand as PSG attempt to defend their Champions League crown:
The Champions League is everybody’s dream trophy. It’s also a great incentive for us to come out the gate strong. This season’s set up will produce some hard matches – there won’t be any easy games for us, every game will be tough.
On Toulouse and Their Ligue 1 Ambitions
Discussing the upcoming Toulouse vs PSG match, he added:
“We know it’s going to be a tough match as it always is when you play away. Toulouse began well, winning their first two games, and they are very defensive, with little space. We need it to keep our momentum in Ligue 1 and to be squarely on the road we want to follow.”
On PSG's Playing Style
So go back and look at the goals they concede against PSG, for example, because they get dominated by a team that does something and makes you sit back.
“We have been used to teams that defend well against us. We play out our style, which kind of forces other teams to take a step back, but our mission is clear – win every single game."
On Young Talents Like Warren
He added: "This demonstration of confidence from the club it's also a reason why I chose to sign here.
“We always want to expose young players. Our academy model is very important, and Warren is a great example, he’s fantastic, he’s superfocused and has got the right attitude. If he carries on like that, he’ll be a great player for PSG.”
